Frequently asked questions

How does the song format work for class?

Normally, each class will normally be a different song where we focus on learning the main section of the dance (for example: verse and chorus) . This gives us the opportunity to cover a lot of dances/songs and gives our students the opportunity to learn a lot of different K-Pop dances in a month which will give a good and varied dance experience. In all cases, please refer to our timetable. For some songs yes, we may perhaps teach the dance to the whole song.

  • If the dance to a whole song is taught then it will generally run over a 4 or 5 week period (see breakdown below).
If the dance to a whole song IS being taught, we normally break it down into 3 or 4 easy-to-digest parts: Week 1: You will learn part 1 of the song (pre chorus)* Week 2: You will learn part 2 of the song (chorus and perhaps a bit more).* Week 3: You will learn part 3 of the song.* Week 4: You will learn part 4 of the song.* (- part 4 may be omitted if the dance can be learned in 3 parts) Week 5: "Round-up class" (in this class you will rehearse the whole dance!!!!).** FYI *
  • When teaching a full song, each part is taught as "new" which means that everyone will be learning it with you for the first time too!
  • So if your availability means you miss a part (for example if you have a work event, a birthday party to go to that day), please be reasssured that it will not affect your experience for the next part that you learn as you are not expected to know the routine in advance.
** See FAQ to understand more about “Round-Up” classes. Sometimes we may alter the class format and in a particular week the class format may be different to the "normal open classes" and the class fee may be different from the usual price. If this happens, details of the changes will be indicated on our "Timetable" page. The BASE App will also be updated by BASE to reflect the change. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope this helps! <3

How do I book a class?

It's so easy to book a class and you have a couple of options:

  1. "BASE STUDIOS" APP: We highly recommend you download the " Base Studios" app (powered by Mindbody) to your smartphone via the app store or Google play store and book your place through the user-friendly app!
  2. Alternatively, go to either the "BOOK ONLINE" button in the top navigation menu or "BOOK CLASS" on the homepage when you scroll down to "classes" (you will be redirected to the dance studio where the classes are held). Or, you could go to the studio website directly: www.basedancestudios.com
Please note that in all cases you will be required to create an account in order to book online. If you are aged under 18 and wish to book class, please seek the consent of your parent or guardian. FYI - **BOOK “MULTIPLE” OPTION via the app: does not work and is not available indefinitely** We have been advised that although the option is visible in the app to “book multiple” classes, unfortunately this option does not work in the App .Therefore this functionality is not available to us. To book a class, you will have to book each class individually. Apologies for the inconvenience.
CLASS COST: See our homepage for the class prices or go to the BASE App. Any one-off price changes will be indicated on our "timetable" website page. FYI: there is no membership fee! :-) BOOKING FYI Please check our timetable before you book ahead for class. When we are planning a new song, our timetable will be updated at which point you may go ahead and book. If a class is sold-out, this means no more students can be accepted due to health and safety reasons. It is therefore advisable to book your place in advance. You may join the waitlist just in case a place becomes available. We have no way of telling whether a place will become available, it simply depends if someone cancels their place.
  • Please note: all bookings are handled and managed by Base Dance Studios directly and therefore Love K-Pop Dance London does not have access to the booking system and cannot manage/process or see the bookings, cancellations or waitlist.
Should you have any questions or concerns with your booking, please reach out to the dance studio directly: www.basedancestudios.com ARRIVING AT THE STUDIO
  • Please note: it is important that you report to reception on arrival so that your name is ticked off & you are signed in. This is also for health and safety reasons. Failure to do so means that BASE reserve the right to interrupt the class to check you are in the class.
Hope this helps! <3

Do you offer anything other than the dance classes...?

The ethos of (L):KD-L is that we're all about having fun and getting dance fit in the dance studio and alongside that, building up our confidence authentically as dancers within a real dance industry environment. Which means that our focus for our students is mainly on ensuring you feel safe and comfortable to move in the dance studio and if you want to, showcasing what we've just learnt by performing in our class video which gets posted on our Instagram. Once you have learnt the dance to a K-Pop song (whether it's a full song or a main section), you are encouraged to post your own dance cover to your Instagram (if you want to of course!). K-Pop should be celebrated by all! So the more covers we all do - the better! Just make sure you tag us and use the hashtags: #lovekpopdancelondon and #lovekpopdance (and give us a shoutout/mention if you happen to be doing a K-Pop dance cover of a routine you learnt with us - sharing is caring! ) We do offer additional services as outlined through "Our Services". These additional services are very much subject to availability and require advance planning. If there is anything different that we plan to do, we will send an email to our subscribers on our mailing list and will also post an update on our Instagram story :) Hope this helps! <3

How do I find out what dance/song is next?

The best place to find out what dance/song is next is by going to " Timetable" in the main navigation menu of our website. There is a calendar list there which lists the current schedule/plan for the upcoming classes and also shows you the Youtube links to the music videos (MVs) and dance practice videos. Alternatively you can head to our Instagram account @lovekpopdancelondon and "turn on notifications" for story and posts in order to stay in the loop. If you are subscribed to our mailing list (see footer of the website) then you will be notifed first by email whenever the timetable is updated. We then later share news of our timetable updates on our Instagram story and save these to our "Story Highlight" on our Instagram profile so that our students can refer back to it. Hope this helps! <3

Where are the classes?

The classes take place at: Base Dance Studios, 4 Tinworth Street, London SE11 5EJ.

  • The nearest London Underground station is Vauxhall (on the Victoria Line).
  • DIRECTIONS:
    • Take exit 3 from Vauxhall underground station and turn left, taking the steps up to cross the road. Keep walking straight past the petrol station (which will be on your right, and you should see the River Thames on your left).
    • When you see a pub on a corner on your right, then take a right and you will find the studio!
The studio itself is easy to get to, just a 5 minute walk or less from the station and the Victoria Line is pretty quick. Definitely check before you travel though and try to arrive a bit earlier because you would still need to report to reception on arrival. Hope this helps! <3

What are the classes like?

  • Warm-up:
    • The classes always start with a warm-up before teaching the K-Pop dance.
  • Groups:
    • The class may be split into groups later on so that everyone has a bit more space to dance when they practice.
  • Class video(s):
    • Towards the end of class (the last 10 minutes or so), there is a focus on taking our "class video" which will be posted on Instagram within 24-48 hours, perhaps Youtube and our website. You are encouraged to be in the videos but it is also absolutely fine if you don't want to yet!
    • The whole class will be filmed and then at least one group will be filmed ( a bit like our own dance cover!).
    • Towards the end of class when we split into groups, you are also welcome to record a video of you dancing on your phone - just politely ask someone in the other group to film for you, and kindly do the same for them.
You're also encouraged to ask lots of questions and there will always be opportunities to do so. It's your class so make sure you make the most of it, relax and have fun! Hope this helps! <3

I've never danced before. Can I still join your classes?

Yes, if you want to learn then of course you can! In fact, a lot of people may tell you that K-Pop dance is a great way to start dancing, especially since there are a lot of online resources (Youtube!) and the K-Pop idols themselves tend to post their dance practice videos showing the full choreography. It's interesting how a K-Pop dance class may give you a small glimpse into what they went through as trainees and nows as idols! Like all things, when you first start learning it definitely won't be easy (even if it's an "easy" choreography) and we only have a certain amount of time for the whole class to learn and practice the dance - BUT be patient with yourself, definitely don't be hard on yourself, and as time goes on it will be very rewarding when you notice an improvement in your dancing - and the main thing anyway is that you just enjoy the routine and have fun! Top Tips are:

  • Watch the practice videos a lot of times so you understand what is required, so that you can get used to the music rythms/patterns and pace.
  • And of course after each class, make sure you continue to practice at home because it's true what they say... practice makes perfect!
  • The hardest part is motivating yourself to go to class and not understanding what to expect because it is so new to you, or being too scared or worried to go..... but once you are there, you will be fine, so please don't worry!
Hope this helps! <3

Do you only teach dances to K-Pop music?

Funny you should ask that as Louise, the creator of Love K-Pop Dance, created the "K-Style Commercial" class which is mostly not to K-Pop music (think Beyonce, Britney Spears, Jason Derulo etc!). Commercial routines are taught which are influenced and inspired by K-Pop dance.

  • This class is aimed at beginners and improvers and just like K-Pop dance, is intended to help you grow as a dancer and just to have fun.
  • See class timetable to find out what the next song will be and which choreographer will be teaching.
This class can be booked in advance in exactly the same way the K-Pop dance classes can be booked. See below for more information:
K-Pop Dance Influences
Where will the K-Pop dance influences comes from? You'll just have to come to class and see! But usually K-Pop dance has more repetition and allows for group formations and transitions and is usually designed bearing in mind that the artist (s) are singing at the same time (although of course, we won't be singing!) which usually means that the dance is slightly easier. There is so much variety in K-Pop dance now that it is difficult to say what it involves because it varies so much from song-to-song. Sometimes there is more posing, more walking, smaller hand movements, bigger hand movements, more head movements, more footwork, less footwork, more flow or more sharp moves... it really just depends - the list goes on! Some people would argue that K-Pop dance is essentially leans more towards a commercial dance style but that the music is obviously focussed only on Korean Pop. Commercial Dance Influences Commercial dance on the other hand, could be described as the type of "mainstream/popular" dance you see on various music videos and at concerts on stage. Commercial also has it's own blend of influences from different dance styles. It is very performance-based as dance is intended to be. But each choreographer is different, meaning each one will bring their own unique style to commercial dance. While it is classed as a "commercial" type of dance, that doesn't necessarily mean any less effort is required... it is still going to be a good challenge! You may also notice a lot of similar moves and overlap from one dance style (K-Pop dance) to the next (Commercial), and, there may be similar timings to some K-Pop dances. Just like how each K-Pop dance is different, each Commercial routine is different also.
  • Since this class is aimed at beginners and improvers, you can feel satisfied that everyone else is of a similar level to you, either just starting to dance or wanting to improve in dance. You are certainly free to ask a lot of questions and you can expect tips or advice to help you in your dance journey to self-improvement and development.
  • But let's not forget one very important thing... the most crucial thing is to relax and have fun!!!! What is dance if we can't enjoy it!!!

** Book your place online (we recommend you book your place through the (free) "BASE STUDIOS" app!). ** Hope this helps! <3

How do I make a song request?

We tend to ask for song suggestions once a month through our Instagram story "suggestions box" only, so please keep a look out for that. All suggestions will be reviewed and shortlisted with the most popular songs being prioritised. Hope this helps! <3

Is there a class ettiquette I should be aware of?

There are no "rules" as such, but like all things there are a few unspoken matters to be aware of just so everyone has a good experience:

  1. Make sure you report to the reception at Base, to check your name off (very important for health and safety reasons) and please state which classes you are attending that day.
  2. *Please note that if you are more than 15 minutes late to class, BASE may not allow you to enter the class due to health and safety reasons.*
  3. Make use of all the studio space (be mindful as much as you can of personal space so as to prevent injuries).
  4. There will be a warm-up but if you are running late for class, make sure you do some stretches before you jump right into the lesson. Warming up is very important as it prepares the body for physical activity and helps to prevent injury.
  5. If you are late for class and therefore miss some of the dance being taught, please be mindful that there may not be time to teach you what you have missed, but just jump in and do what you can!
  6. Please support each other in class :) For a lot of people, especially beginners, it can be quite scary dancing in front of other people, so the more we support (clap and cheer) each other, the better!
Hope this helps! <3

Are the class bookings transferable?

BASE Dance Studio handles all bookings. If you have any problems with your booking, you will need to reach out to the dance studio directly. Please be advised that Base Dance Studio do a head count to ensure that the class has the correct number of people etc and if they have any questions about missing payment, or attendees, they have the right to pause the class in order to double check. Get in touch with Base Dance Studio if you have any issues with your booking. Hope this helps! <3

Can I have the class video?

The dance will normally be filmed towards the end of class and the videos will be posted on our Instagram page @lovekpopdancelondon. Once the videos have been been posted to our Instagram, if you were in one of the groups please feel free to direct message us on Instagram to receive a copy of the video through Instagram. We also tend to send the edited video out to students we know so if you're new to us it's a good idea to reach out to us so we know it's you in that video! Otherwise we recommend you use a free "repost" app which you can download from the app store/Google play store to download the video from our Instagram to your device. Towards the end of class however, when the class has been split into two groups, you are also welcome to film on your phone. Simply double check and ask the teacher if it is ok to film (because some people may not want to/or feel comfortable to be in a video on the internet), and kindly check to see if anyone is kindly willing to film for you (from the other group). Hope this helps! <3

Is there an age limit for anyone who wants to attend class?

  • No, it is a dance studio so all ages are welcome.
  • However, anyone under the age of 18 will have to seek permission from their parent/guardian in order to pay for class and for any engagement with our website.
  • Please note that most of the students who attend our classes are adults (college, university, full-time workers). It is worth considering this before you permit your child to attend.
  • Students and parents/guardians should also note that the dance routines are filmed towards the end of class and are posted on our Instagram, Youtube channel and our website.
  • We recommend that parents and/or guardians check and assess our social media (Instagram, our website videos, Youtube) for themselves to determine whether they are happy for their child to attend that class.
*** DISCLAIMER***
  • Explicit Lyrics: before parents and/or guardians book a dance class for their child, it is crucial that you check our timetable page on website to find out what song is being taught. Some K-Pop songs (and non K-Pop for the K-Style Commercial class) contain explicit lyrics.
  • "Risqué" / suggestive or aggressive dance moves: dance is an artform and the nature of it means that there is a level of understanding and acceptance if you were to take a class.
    • However, not every parent or guardian is accepting or understanding for various reasons and you may not feel comfortable if your child under the age of 18 years old learns and dances a routine with suggestive combos/moves which you may not find age appropriate.
    • Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the dances, however, please be aware that:
      • With K-Pop dance, we share the artists' dance videos/music videos/dance practice videos on our timetable page so you can watch the videos in advance and make your own informed decision.
      • With K-Style Commercial, which is entirely original and new choreography, like any other open dance class, it is completely up to you to decide whether you would like your child to attend knowing that there may be some risqué moves. You can go to our Youtube channel to view a playlist of previous dances taught, and make your own decision from there.
  • In summary: it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to assess and make their own informed decision on behalf of their child, based on the information provided in our timetable.
    • **You will not be given a refund should you neglect to check the information provided and find yourself unhappy post-class that there were dance moves you didn't want your child to be dancing or that there were explicit lyrics.**
DANCE CLASS VIDEOS ON THE INTERNET
  • If you do not wish to be/do not wish your child to be in a dance video on the internet then that is fine, but you must explicitly say at the time.
  • All our students have a choice about whether they want to be in the video or not.
  • Our students are encouraged to, for the fun experience but we do not force anyone to be in the videos. The class videos are just for fun and to help us remember the experience and build up our dance confidence!
That said, if you have not explicitly made it clear at the time of class that you do not want to be in the video/do not want your child to be in the dance class video, and/or should you be unhappy with your dancing (or any other reason) and wish for a class video to be taken down / deleted from our Instagram, Youtube, website or any other such channel, unfortunately we are unable to fulfill your request as this will be unfair on everyone else in the dance class video. We hope you understand. Hope this helps! <3

What is a "Round-Up" class?

  • When we teach the dance to a full song, there will normally be a “round-up” class. This class happens once students have learnt all 3 (or 4) dance sections of the song.
  • The round-up class is exactly that: we “round-up” all the parts/sections together and dance to the whole song!
  • For a round-up class, the choreography is not re-taught but is simply revised. In a round-up class we learn what it feels like to dance to a whole song just like how K-Pop idols do. It is the ONLY class where you are required to know the dance in advance!
  • It is advisable to have attended no less than 3 of the classes to all the dance sections in order to get the best experience out of a final round-up class.
  • However, if you're able to pick up the choreography quickly for any parts you may have missed (perhaps you went on holiday - lucky you!) then that's absolutely fine for you to join the round-up class.
  • If you still want to join a round-up class just for fun despite the reasons above - then that is fine.... the more the merrier!
  • Please just remember that it is not re-taught like in a "normal" class.
Hope this helps! <3

What is the class cancellation policy?

  • Base Dance Studios handles and processes all class bookings and payments.

  • This means (L):KD-L does not have access to the booking system or any payment data.

  • (L):KD-L has access only to the names (first name and last name) of students who attended class. We see this information when a class has taken place.
  • We understand that you may need to cancel a class you may have booked in advance, for whatever reason.
  • Please be aware there is a cancellation policy for good reason, which protects the studio, the instructor and the interests of other students who are interested in joining the class.
Please see below for Base Dance Studio’s cancellation policy:
“BASE Dance Studios enforces a two hour cancellation policy for all customers who have booked a place for a class via the online platforms. If the customer wishes to cancel their booking at any period prior to two hours before the scheduled time of the class commencing, then a credit for the class amount booked, not including the online booking fee, will be credited to the the customers online profile upon the Base application. The credit returned can only be used by the customer to purchase either the same class, or a class of the same price, at a subsequent time. A cash or bank transfer is not eligible. And the credit refunded cannot be used for a class of a different pricing. If the booking is cancelled less than two hours before the scheduled time that the class commences then the customer is not eligible for a credit refund, cash refund, or either a bank transfer to the customers personal account. Booked places cancelled within less than the two hour period will be charged the full rate for that class. We value your custom and will always do our best to accommodate your needs. New Client/Customers: Please note that valid credit card information is required of all new customers/clients booking to hold a place in a class at Base Studios via the Base Studios online services.” To summarise the class cancellation policy:
  • If you neglect to cancel your place in the class with less than 2 hours to go before the class starts, then you will be charged the class fee.
  • If you cancel more than 2 hours in advance of when the class starts, your class credit will be refunded/returned to your Base Dance account in the app, minus any booking fees.
From our side here at (L):KD-L, we kindly ask that if you need to cancel your spot in the class, try to cancel as early as possible to free up your place to give someone else the opportunity to join the class. Hope this helps! <3

How does the “Waitlist” work?

Sold-Out Classes

  • A “Sold-Out” class means we have reached full capacity and means that Base Dance Studios cannot accept any more students to join the class due to serious health and safety reasons. For example, a dance studio with a maximum capacity of 30 students means no more than 30 students will be accepted.

About the Waitlist
  • If a class is sold-out and you are interested in joining the class if a spot becomes available then you are welcome to join the “waitlist”.
Please note, joining the waitlist does not guarantee you a place in the class. However, it increases your chances to join the class should someone cancel their place. It also means you will be the first to be automatically notified if a place becomes available. Since we do not manage the bookings or payment system (this is done via BASE directly), we cannot see who is on the waitlist and will not know if a place will be available, so it is a good idea for you to sign up to the waitlist so that you can find out yourself.

Here is how the waitlist works:
  1. The class is sold-out but you would like to join that class if a place becomes available. You see an option in the Base Dance Studio app to “Join Waitlist”.
  2. You click “Join Waitlist” and it asks you to pay. This is normal. To join the waitlist, go ahead and pre-pay for the class. If a place does not become available for you, then you will receive a full refund.
  3. If a place becomes available last minute, you will be automatically notified by email (by the dance studio) and automatically transferred from waitlist to class list *** please make sure you have your email notifications in the app turned on to receive the automatic emails & that you are vigilant in the hours leading up to class when it comes to checking your waitlist status in the App. This is the responsibility of all students.***
  4. When you receive this email, it will tell you that you have been transferred from waitlist to the class list (and therefore are on the system as "confirmed" to join class). You have the option to cancel your place, however please note that BASE Dance Studio's standard cancellation policy rules then apply.
    • You must cancel more than 2 hours in advance of the class start time to receive your money back to your BASE account (as class credit).
    • Cancelling with less than 2 hours before the class starts means you won't receive a refund (but it will make your place available for anyone else who wants to attend class last minute).
  5. When you are notified by email that you have been moved from waitlist to class list as "confirmed", the class/your booking should show in your account under “My Classes" in the App.
If you have any questions regarding the waitlist process then please reach out to Base Dance Studio directly by email: admin@basedancestudios.com Hope this helps! <3

***Important Disclaimers***

If you are new to our K-Pop dance cover classes and dance company overall, please take the time to read our disclaimers and FAQ page in full. Taking the time to read the information provided will really help you in your understanding of what we do, how everything works and what you may need to be aware of. It may be quicker for you to find your answer in our FAQ rather than contacting us and waiting for a response simply because we receive an overwhelming amount of queries through our website and Instagram direct message. However, after reading our FAQ page and Privacy Policy page in full, if you still have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us via the form on this page and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as we can. If you do not hear back from us within a few days or so, please do not hesitate to follow-up. Thank you! (L):KD-L. <3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- K-POP DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY DISCLAIMER: IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ALL STUDENTS Please note that K-Pop dance is centred around learning K-Pop idols dance routines to their songs (a culture that they highly encourage!) and this has really developed an industry/business and K-Pop dance cover culture that has really grown worldwide. Our instructors have to prepare the classes well in advance and take the time to learn the K-Pop dance choreography themselves in order to teach to a class. Since this is not our choreography, we will do the best we can to teach the routine as closely as we can to the original choreography in the given time, so that students can "have a go", and practice at home to create their own K-Pop dance covers. We may simplify some small moves to suit the level in class. There are transitions and group formation changes in K-Pop which may be simplified since we are not in a group formation as a class, or, some moves may be "on the spot". BOOKING FYI Important: Please check our timetable page before you book ahead for class. We communicate our updated monthly timetable firstly via our website, then to our mailing list, and then later to Instagram "timetable story highlight". All our information is provided for you across our channels. In the BASE Dance Studios app/timetable/website, our website and/or relevant Instagram is also provided for you. Therefore, checking the timetable ahead of booking any of our open classes is the responsibility of the Student/Parent/Guardian. We cannot be held responsible if you have neglected to check the timetable or format of the class in advance. > When we are planning a new song, our timetable will be updated at which point you may go ahead and book. Please note: ALL bookings and payment for our open classes that take place at BASE Dance Studios are handled and managed by Base Dance Studios only/directly, and therefore Love K-Pop Dance London does not have access to the booking system and cannot manage/process or see the bookings, cancellations or waitlist. (L):KD-L simply provides a teaching service for our regular open classes. Should you have any questions or concerns with your booking, please reach out to the dance studio directly: www.basedancestudios.com SOLD-OUT CLASSES You can check whether a class is sold-out/fully-booked simply by going directly to the BASE Studios App. If a class is sold-out/fully-booked then no more bookings can be taken due to health and safety reasons relating to maximum studio capacity. It is therefore advisable to book your place in advance. BASE Dance Studios does operate a "waitlist" system in case a place does become available. Please see the rest of our FAQ for more information. ARRIVING AT THE STUDIO

  • Please note: it is important that you report to reception on arrival and state what classes you are attendng that day so that your name is ticked off on the register(s) and you are signed in. This is also for health and safety reasons. Failure to do so means that BASE reserve the right to interrupt the class to check you are in the class or to double-check status for any other reason.
  • Or you can sign-in using the iPads at reception.
  • Please kindly co-operate with the studio staff who are simply doing their job to check all information is correct.
  • Make sure you have your class booking confirmation/receipt to hand just in case.
CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS
  • It is the student’s (or parent/guardian’s) responsibility to cancel their own booking well in advance in order to receive their money back to their BASE account.
  • ***Please refer to our FAQ answer regarding “Cancellation Policy” for more detail surrounding the policy***.
  • Failure to cancel well in advance means you do not, and cannot expect a refund as per BASE Dance Studios’ cancellation policy.
  • We kindly ask that our students please be responsible for their own class booking.
  • We cannot be held responsible for your booking.

NOTICE FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS Explicit Lyrics: Before parents and/or guardians book a dance class for their child, it is crucial that you check our timetable page on website to find out what song is being taught. Some K-Pop songs (and non K-Pop for the K-Style Commercial class) contain explicit lyrics. "Risqué" / suggestive or aggressive dance moves: dance is an artform and the nature of it means that there is a level of understanding and acceptance if you were to take a class. However, not every parent or guardian is accepting or understanding for various reasons and you may not feel comfortable if your child under the age of 18 years old learns and dances a routine with suggestive combos/moves which you may not find age appropriate.
You can go to our Youtube channel to view a playlist of previous dances taught or Instagram "IGTV", and make your own decision from there.
In summary: it is the parent/guardian's responsibility to assess and make their own informed decision on behalf of their child, based on the information provided in our timetable. **You will not be given a refund by BASE Dance Studios should you neglect to check the information provided and find yourself unhappy post-class that there were dance moves you didn't want your child to be dancing or that there were explicit lyrics. **
The class videos are just for fun and to help us remember the experience and build up our dance confidence within a real dance industry environment!
  • That said, if you have not explicitly made it clear at the time of class that you do not want to be in the video/do not want your child to be in the dance class video, and/or should you be unhappy with your dancing (or any other reason) and wish for a class video to be taken down / deleted from our Instagram, Youtube, website or any other such channel, unfortunately we are unable to fulfill your request as this will be unfair on everyone else in the dance class video. We hope you understand.
CLASS GROUP VIDEOS
  • Please also understand that in smaller group class videos, not everyone will have the chance to be filmed - simply because we do not have enough time to film everyone in smaller groups for the class videos.

I will be late to class. Will I lose my place?

BASE Dance Studio has a lateness policy: If you are more than 15 minutes late to class, for health and safety reasons they have the right to refuse your place. It is important that you try to arrive on time and BASE encourage you to arrive 15 minutes early. We understand there may be valid reasons why you may be late to class, but please note that we cannot be held accountable or responsible if you are late to class and you will not be given a refund. Hope this helps answer this question.

How do I book multiple classes / for me and my friend?

For our regular open weekly & monthly classes you can only pay via the BASE Dance Studios App or via their website: www.basedancestudios.com. All bookings and payments are handled between the Customer and BASE Dance Studios directly. The BASE Dance Studios App has a "book multiple classes" function which unfortunately does not work as yet. We have been advised that students have to "pay per class" - one payment transaction/booking for each individual class. If you would like to book for a friend as well as yourself (perhaps you are booking it as a surprise or a gift), we have been advised by BASE Dance Studios that you would need to log out of your existing account and create another BASE Dance Studios account with:

  1. Different email address.
  2. Different account name (perhaps use your middle name or a nickname).
  3. You can still use the same card to pay on both accounts.
  4. The "identities" between your original BASE Dance Studios account and the new one you are making to book for your friend should be entirely different as much as possible, otherwise the booking system will "red flag" your account and may think it is a mistake and you may have trouble signing in at reception.
If the bookings on both seperate accounts go through, when you report to reception on arrival on the day of the class you have booked, please state the names the bookings were made in, have the confirmation emails to hand and explain the method you used to book. They will take the time to go through the system and double-check everything for you. Hope this helps.

Can you reserve me a place in class?

Unfortunately, under no circumstances are we able to reserve you a place in class regardless of any of the following reasons: "I am having payment issues, can you reserve me a place?" "I am having mobile issues with the App / my BASE account, can you reserve me a place?" "I would like to attend, not sure if I will but I am worried the class will be fully booked, can you reserve me a place?" "I am on the waitlist and I really want to get onto the class list - can you make me a place or reserve me a place?" This list is not exhaustive. All bookings are the responsibility of the Customer/Student and all bookings are managed by the Customer/Student directly with BASE Dance Studios. To attend class, payment is due first, which you are responsible for. BASE Dance Studios operates a fair booking system. If you have any trouble with payment, your BASE Dance Studios account or App, please ensure you call and/or email BASE Dance Studios directly. Unfortunately we are unable to help you with this. We do not manage the bookings, we focus on teaching our classes. Hope this helps to clear this up. Thank you.

How do I find out what songs are being taught?

We update our timetable once a month or more. The best way to find out when the timetable has been updated is by signing up to our mailing list (scroll to the very bottom of any page on our website and you will see the "sign up to our mailing list" box). Please enter your full name and email address. When you sign up to our mailing list you will autmatically receive the timetable email which tells you that our timetable has been updated (you will continue to automatically receive these timetable updates unless you opt-out/unsubscribe!). We normally send the timetable update email out first before the posters get added to our Instagram story (@lovekpopdancelondon) and are then saved to our Instagram story "timetable" highlight. So if you are on the mailing list you will be the first to know! But if there's a song that you really want to learn the dance to....we definitely recommend acting fast before you miss out! Hope this helps!

How much are private tuition lessons?

The main focus of our Company is our regular open classes, they are at the core of what we do. However, we offer other services besides our regular open weekly and monthly classes as mentioned on: " Our Services". COST The cost of private tuition is considerably more than our open classes and the cost will depend on how many people are in the private tuition session. Please send your enquiry to us by completing the "contact us form" (scroll down to fill out the form). Private tuition in general is expensive compared to our open classes which is why it tends to be reserved for people who are very serious about it and who feel they may benefit most from a private session than an open dance class, or, alongside our open classes. Private tuition is more expensive for several reasons, but one of the main reasons is because we are providing a dedicated extra resource/time for you exclusively outside of our normal working hours. PRIVATE TUITION AVAILABILITY Private tuition session availability very much depends on instructor availability so we would have to work together well in advance to find a date and time where:

  • Both you and the instructor are available.
  • There is a studio space available (which you have to also pay for in addition to the private tution fee for 2 hours).
  • An order confirmation/booking form is sent across to outline the terms and conditions and payment is taken upfront (in advance) by invoice. This ensures all parties involved are protected and there are no misunderstandings.
  • The studio hire has to be booked in advance also, which can be organised for you.
Please note, dance studios tend to get booked up very quickly in London, and are rarely available on the date/time you prefer at such short notice. Coupled with an instructor also needing to be available as well, we strongly recommend you reach out to us well in advance of any dates you have in mind. RECOMMENDED PRIVATE TUITION TIME To get the most out of a private session, we recommend 2 hours minimum as you will find that one hour is simply not enough. SONG CHOICE You will be able to choose from a list of K-Pop songs unless there is one you already have in mind. We will do our best to accomodate your song choice but may not always be able to. WHY HAVE A PRIVATE TUITION LESSON / CORPORATE WORKSHOP / EVENT WITH LOVE K-POP DANCE LONDON LTD? We are an established and respected business that was the very first to break the K-Pop Dance culture mold and merge it with the professional dance industry.
